Anderson, Carolyn & Roske, Katherine: The Co-creators Handbook; An Experiential Guide for Discovering Your Soul’s Purpose and Building a Co-Creative Society (Self Published, www.globalfamily.net.) Excellent resource for processes to help you and your core group explore life purpose. Provides guidelines and tools to support cocreative cores who are working toward a shared purpose or project.

Assogioli, Robert: Psychonsynthesis; A Manual of Principles and Techniques. (Penguin, New York, 1976). Another seminal work that rediscovered the concept of a transpersonal self beyond the behavior ego, initiating the field of transpersonal psychology.

Aurobinbdo, Sri: The Synthesis of Yoga. Pondicherry, India: Sri Aurobindo Ashram. 1955. A master work from the great Eastern yogi, who along with Teilhard de Chardin established the ground work for evolutionary spirituality and the emergence of the universal human.

Bache, Christopher M.: Dark Night Early Dawn: Steps to a Deep Ecology of the Mind (State University of New York Press, 2000) An exploration of the further reaches of the mind leading to an experience of a planetary awakening of our species as a whole.

Baldwin, Christina: Calling the Circle: The First and Future Culture. (Bantan Books, NY, NY 1998) In this book Christina explains the simple yet profound practice of a council circle. Another great resource for circle formation.

Banathy, Bela H.: Guided Evolution of Society: A Systems View (Kluweer Academic/Plenum Publishers, NY 2000) A superb text, bringing together for the first time the dynamics of conscious evolution, with key concepts, scholars, references. Bela establishes the new field for us. A Must for any student of conscious evolution.

Beck, Don and Cowan, Christopher: Spiral Dynamics; Mastering, Values, Leadership and Change (Blackwell Publishers, Oxford, 1996, ISBN, USA orders to 238 Main Street, Cambridge, MA 02124, phone 800-216-2522) Spiral Dynamics reveals the hidden codes that shape human nature, create global diversities, and drive organizational change. (Harmony Books, New York, NY. 1997) The Path to Love is a remarkable melding of eastern wisdom and western pragmatism, of ancient knowledge and scientific research. Philosophical, inspiring, and ultimately very practical, this book is a rich read and offers great insight into the transformation of ourselves through our relationships.

Chopra, Deepak: The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success: A Practical Guide To The Fulfillment of Your Dreams, Amber-Allen Publishing and New World Library, San Rafael, CA. 1994. Gorney, Dr. Roderic: The Human Agenda: The Evolution of Human Values -- Man's Way to Survival, (Simon and Schuster New York, 1972 ) Dr. Gorney challenges the popular view that human violence results from immutable instinct, and shows that it is learned.He illuminates the nature, sources, and social provocation of human aggression.

It is a practical guide, offering the reader the vision, the path and the practice.

Hock, Dee: Birth of the Chaordic Age (Berrett-Koehler Publishers, Inc SF, CA, 1999). Visionary yet pragmatic ideas about the nature of money, information, organization, and community, and hope for a better future in an increasingly complex and troubled world.

Holmes, Ernest: The Science of Mind (G.P. Putnam's Sons, 50th Anniversary Edition, New York) This is the seminal text that sets forth the basic premises of the New Thought Movement, and Religious Science in particular. He writes: "The study of the Science of Mind is a study of First Cause, Spirit, Mind, or that invisible Essence, that ultimate Stuff and Intelligence from which everything comes, the Power bask of creation -- the Thing Itself." Through Science of Mind we learn to become cocreative. With that Power in alignment with the deepest patterns of evolution.

Houston, Jean: Passion for the Possible: A Guide to Realizing Your True Potential. (Harper SanFrancisco, 1997) Great encouragement and excellent exercises from one of the world's premier teachers and evocateurs of our creative potential.

Hubbard, Barbara Marx: Conscious Evolution: Awakening the Power of Our Social Potential (Novato, CA, New World Library, 1998). Focusing on the social aspect of Conscious Evolution Barbara offers a spirit-motivated design of action which can assist us in taking the quantum jump. It is a basic text book for Gateway.

Hubbard, Barbara Marx: Emergence: The Shift from Ego to Essence - 10 Steps to the Universal Human. (Hampton Roads, Charlottesville, VA 22902, 2001) The key text for the Emergence Process with guidelines for every step from "birth" through Infancy, Childhood and Youth, culminating in a vision of the next stage of human evolution in which the Adult Universal Human comes forth.

A profound background text to the Gateway from a master guide.

Maslow, Abraham H:. Further Reaches of Human Nature ( New York, New York, 10166). The master founder of the human potential movement gives us powerful insights as to the ways in which we reach self actualization and self transcendence.

Miller, Ron, edited by: Creating Learning Communities: Models, Resources, and New Ways of Thinking About Teaching and Learning (Solomon Press, The Foundation for Educational Renewal, Inc Brandon, VT. 2000) This is a wonderful, extremely useful book illustrating how creative partnership-oriented learning communities are springing up all over the world. The contributors speak from successful experiences and with great passion - about this important self-organizing educational movement that can help lay the foundations for a more equitable, peaceful, truly democratic way of life.

He shows that the bridge between science and spirit is light.

Sher, Babara: I Could Do Anything, If I Only Knew What It Was: How to Discover What You Really Want and How to Get It. (Dell Publishing, New York, N.Y., 1994).

Small, Jacquelyn: Transformers: The Artists of Self-Creation (DeVorss and Co., 1994) A beautiful guide by one of our best teachers in human transformation.

Some', Sobonfu: The Spirit Of Intimacy: Ancient African Teachings in the way of Relationships. (Quill William Morrow, New York, NY 1997) An amazing book by an amazing woman, bringing us wisdom of her people about the importance of living, breating, continual connection with spirit and each other; about the ways to experience a genuine intimacy with life itself.

Stewart, John: Evolution's Arrow: The Direction of Evolution and the Future of Humanity (Canberra, 2611 Australia, The Chapman Press, 2000) A key work that identifies another mechanism beyond "natural selection" that is the selection of that which cooperates best. This leads to a hypothesis that the cooperators will inherit the Earth.

Stock, Gregory: Metaman: The Merging of Humans and Machines into a Global Superorganism (New York, Simon & Schuster, 1993). A major description of the evolution of the noosphere provides humanity with the power to transcend the limits of its current condition and flourish as a universal species.

Swimme, Brian and Berry, Thomas: The Universe Story:From the Primordial Flaring Forth to the Ecozoic Era (San Francisco, HarperCollins, 1992). The best story of cosmogenesis ever written.

Tolle, Eckhart: The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment (New World Library, Novato, CA, 1999). A marvelously clear guide to accessing essence by focus on the presence in the present. "[Being] is your very essence, and it is immediately accessible to you as the feeling of your own presence, the realization that I am is prior to I am this or I am that.

Toms, Michael: A Time for Choices (New Society Pub, September 2002). Addresses contemporary challenges to democracy through dialogues that expand the field of possibilities with the views of leading thinkers, educators, political analysts, activists, social innovators, clergy, journalists, philosophers, and spiritual teachers.

Toms, Michael: An Open Life: Joseph Campbell in Conversation with Michael Toms (HarperCollins (paper); May 1990). Wolf, Fred Alan: The Spiritual Universe. (Simon & Schuster, New York, 1996) Another major work from who is affectionately called "our cosmic rabbi," a leading physicist who is probing the relationship between quantum physics and consciousness.

Wright, Michelle Small: Cocreative Science: A Revolution in Science Providing Real Solutions For Today's Health and Environment. (Perelandra, Ltd. Warrenton, VA 1997) This book is a must read for anyone who wishes to enter into a cocreative partnership with nature.

Yatri: Unknown Man: the Mysterious Birth of a New Species (New York, A Fireside Book, Simon & Schuster Inc., 1988). One of the most beautiful works of prose with original art describing the emergence of the universal human - the new species being born through so many of us.
